MWAI partnered with CARE USA to manage a data mapping and validation project for the Patsy Collins Trust Fund Initiative (PCTFI) in seven CARE country offices from July 2013 – April 2014. MWAI consultants worked with CARE staff in Malawi, Tanzania, Cambodia, Mali, Honduras, India, and Bangladesh to assess existing data sets, review instruments, and analyze the data. We reported on the data according to CARE’s established themes of girls’ early marriage, school attainment, participation, and gender-based violence. The recommendations will strengthen future data collection and data management at the country level, and the findings will inform CARE’s future programming across countries. These efforts will contribute to more rigorous research, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation in each country office in the future, and to more effective girls’ education programming across sites.
